Week 2 Blog from Mrs T

We are at the end of week 2 already! The Easter holidays are a distant memory, and we are beginning our planning for the term ahead and for September.

This time of the year is all about transition, as we prepare our students of the next part of their journey – whether that is Pathways or to the Learning Centre.

Whilst for some this is a sad time to be leaving us, it’s also quite exciting to move onto pastures new and meet new people.

We will be sending out information to all families and carers, giving them the chance to respond and come and meet us.

This week some of our children in the Autism Base were given the opportunity to go to the Chill Factore and have some snow fun.

AB 7, Mr Drake and the staff had a brilliant afternoon on Thursday and really enjoyed the entire experience and the children bounced back into school having had a brilliant time.

I’ve walked through the school this week to see some amazing learning in areas. This afternoon (Friday) I popped into music and spoke to the children in the group (7TAN).

I asked what their favourite lesson was, and the response was “Music, with Mr Thompson” – sorry to all other class teachers of 7TAN!

Our IB children always amaze me with their hidden talents and I’ve been lucky to see and hear IB6 working on their signing and singing skills. Plus, we’ve had a special birthday...

That’s it for me. Next week, we have our last full week before the Bank Holiday.

We have a fun weekend in the Tootill house as its my twin daughter’s birthday!

I hope all our families and carers have a fab weekend.

Stay safe
