Venice - Day 1

Day One - New Bridge Students Touch Down in Italy and begin their Venetian Digital Media Adventure at H-Farm 

Title of Project: ‘Enabling Employability in Digital Media’

The vision is to travel to Italy to learn about cultural landmarks within the city of Venice and different aspects that are involved in the field of ‘creative content creation’ using iPads to capture and edit creative photos, videos, and design content for online social media with the theme “Come To Venice”. 

The trip will see students from New Bridge College work together with students from H-Farm International School in Venice, to learn about different digital mediums and design and deliver a pitch to peers and professionals. 

Students will gain insights into digital marketing, attend workshops in school, practice their skills in the city of Venice, and present their digital ideas at the end of the week. 

On Sunday afternoon, we began our adventure at New Bridge College. We then travelled to Manchester Airport for our flight to Italy... Venice here we come!

After settling into our new homes for the week at Vela Blue Village, we awoke at first light, enjoyed breakfast, and then traveled to H‑Farm for our first day at the school.

When we arrived at the school, our fantastic hosts welcomed us warmly, leading us into a series of digital icebreakers followed by a guided tour of the incredible H‑Farm campus.

After lunch at H‑Farm’s cafeteria, students teamed up to research Venice’s design and media landscape before sharing their findings with confidence and creativity. 

Venice - Day 1 - Afternoon

After returning to the village, students naturally drifted into their favourite ways to unwind. Some headed straight for the beach, others relaxed by the pool, a few chose to get some exercise in, and plenty were happy to simply chill and enjoy the late afternoon atmosphere.
