Pathways Blog - 8.5.26
I hope this blog finds you all safe and well, and you enjoyed your Bank Holiday Monday.
When pupils are at Pathways, they are offered and experience a rich curriculum with fantastic learning opportunities. Attendance at Pathways is important for pupils academic and social development, providing vital skills to help support them in the future.
By being just 10 minutes late for the school day can have a large impact over a pupils Pathways journey – 2 weeks of missed learning over 2 years.

We understand that pupils do get ill, so please contact the school absence line on the morning of absence to inform school if your child is going to be absent. We work closely with the Local Authority in providing support and interventions for long term absence.
Looking forward to the next couple of weeks, we have our Summer Parents Evening on Thursday 14th May, and some Year 11 pupils are getting ready for the Haven Residential (18th May) – a reminder to parents to bring in all necessary medication by Wednesday 13th May.
Enjoy your weekend, stay safe

Art Options
This week in Art Options we got very creative.
We have been looking at pop culture, in particularly Graffiti influences from artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Banksy.
We turned our blank canvases into Urban masterpieces.
The results were electric! The pupils loved the freedom of spray paint and the ability to create something that felt both contemporary and personal.
The pupils all had a great time, well done.

CL3 Update
In Maths, we’ve been exploring measurement in fun and practical ways — including discovering that, yes, you can measure a person’s height using rulers. CL3 have been gathering data and building their confidence with statistics and data.
As part of our Leisure topic in Pathways, we visited the new Market Hall. Everyone enjoyed a well-earned drink in the Deelite Café.
We tried our hand at pottery. Pupils created both coil and slab pots, then decorated them with their own designs. The results were great.
Pupils amazed Miss Holland and myself at how engaged they were in creating their own self-portraits - can you recognise anyone?
We have also been busy designing our own kites. After half term, we’ll be visiting to Alexandra Park to fly kites. Next week, pupils will be visiting the Imperial War Museum, and we’ll be sure to let you know how we get on.
CL3 have had a busy and productive few weeks!

CL4
CL4 enjoyed learning about light and colour in Science this week. We created an ‘indoor rainbow’ and produced a wheel which shows that white light splits into all the colours of the rainbow.
