Pathways Blog - 6.3.26

It feels funny that we are nearly halfway through the term despite this being our 2nd week back. But what does Pathways do in this short period of time? We continue to offer a full, packed curriculum, filled with experiences and opportunities for learning!

Tuesday saw our first Community Living Event Day, and we rounded off the week with a Whodunnit? Murder Mystery – these 2 days were incredible and packed with so much engagement and information that staff are still processing and editing the images and videos – There are some teaser photos to wet the appetite in preparation for their dedicated blog entries next week!

Whilst these were 2 whole site events, we still had our regular lessons, and below is a sample of some of the lessons our learners engaged in.

Finally, please can I use this opportunity to remind families that Pathways is a Mobile Free-Zone – As stated in policy, pupils are to hand in their phones upon arrival and they are stored away. Updated Department for Education documentation (February 2026) states that ‘all schools should be mobile phone-free environments by default’.

I thank parents for their support and understanding in helping us continue to offer an environment that is ‘safe and free from distraction so all pupils can learn and thrive’.

Enjoy your weekend – stay safe

Activ8 2

🌟 ACTIV8 2 SMASHED IT THIS WEEK! 🌟

Huge well done to all our students—teachers have been full of praise for your hard work and brilliant behaviour!

👏

At MAHDLO, you showed off amazing trampolining and badminton skills—swivel hips, front/back landings, rallies, serves… you name it, you nailed it!

🏸🤸‍♂️

Today we celebrated World Book Day with a full Murder Mystery.

🔍🕵️‍♂️

You cracked clues, interrogated suspects, and solved the case like true detectives!

Keep up the fantastic effort, Activ8 2!

CL1

CL1 have been absolutely fantastic this week! They have shown incredible effort in everything they do, demonstrating resilience, enthusiasm, and a brilliant attitude to learning. It has been wonderful to see them approach every challenge with determination and pride.

We’ve taken part in a wide range of activities, and the class have engaged with each one with genuine excitement and curiosity. Whether they were exploring new ideas, working together as a team, or pushing themselves to try something different, CL1 have consistently impressed with their focus and positive energy.

Well done, CL1—keep up the amazing work!

Digi Careers

Last week, a selection of students from our digital pathway got the chance to visit one of our partner schools, Samuel Laycock, for a careers event where we got to hear from a range of speakers. These people told us all about their different jobs in a range of fields such as insurance, holiday planning, running a book shop, and even being a movie director.

Our students got the opportunity to ask these speakers questions about how they got into their jobs and what skills they might need for it. They were excellently well behaved and really engaged well during the event. We hope they found some inspiration for a possible future career!
