English
In English this week we have been looking at persuasive writing. We looked at the story ‘Hey Little Ant’ by Phillip and Hannah Hoose and students had to write a persuasive text to explain why the boy in the story should not step on the ant. Kenzie created a very imaginative poem.
Poetry
As part of the Autumn term poetry topic, students participated in the YoungWriters “Lest We Forget” poetry competition. I was delighted to receive the fantastic news that one of our students' poems has been chosen to be published in their book “Lest We Forget - Learning from The Past"!
We are incredibly proud of Connor from Digi1 for this remarkable achievement!

Com Liv Gen
Last week in our pathway session ComLiv Gen went on a class trip to Starbucks. The students all ordered their own drinks and really enjoyed socialising in the café. This week we also walked to Sainsbury’s where the class bought some ice cream and lollies to enjoy in the hot weather. They all crossed the road sensibly, helped to choose what to buy and paid at the checkout. We are all so proud as the class is becoming more and more confident in accessing the community. Well done to ComLiv Gen!
