Pathways Blog - 19.12.25

As the Autumn term ends, we would like to thank our staff, pupils, families and all other external agencies for their continued support of New Bridge Pathways.  We look back at 2025 with great pride in what has been achieved and are excited at what 2026 has to bring.

Pathways 2025

January began our spring term,

Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Ready To Learn.

Learning awaits with a promise so bright,

A fresh new chapter, a hopeful light.

February brought Ofsted’s keen eye,

A test of our spirit, we reached for the sky.

March was laughter, cold water, a cheer,

Staff braved the Ice Bucket, memories clear.

April bloomed with faith and delight,

Easter and Eid made our learning take flight.

May saw adventures, expeditions bold,

D of E journeys, Chicago stories told.

June was the Year 11 residential to Haven, a place to renew,

Friendship and joy in skies so blue.

July crowned the year with gowns and song,

Prom nights glitter; Leavers move on.

August held Holiday Club’s embrace,

smiles and games in a safe space.

September welcomed Year 10s with pride,

New faces entering the school with a stride

October cast spells in a magical way,

Wands raised high for Harry Potter Day.

November rang with voices strong,

Student Council elections, where dreams belong.

December closed with festive delight,

Christmas Markets, feasts and parties glowing bright

All of us at New Bridge Pathways wish you and your families a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

We will welcome pupils back on Monday 5th January 2026.

Stay safe,

Mr Southerington and Miss McMurray

Canned Food Drive

On Friday, our Student Council President and vice president helped Mr Southerington and Mrs Newport deliver the food donations that staff and families had generously gifted over the past few weeks.

Kyle and Padraig were greeted by Cath from Oldham Foodbank and the items were warmly received. Thank you for your support to help our local community during the festive period.

CL3

Time to say goodbye to 2025 from CL3

We are looking forward to 2026.

Merry Christmas

CL5

CL5 have had a fantastic end to the term, showing impeccable behaviour everywhere they’ve been. They enjoyed visiting the library, exploring local supermarkets, and taking in the beautiful displays at the Christmas Tree Festival in Oldham Parish church, where they were lucky enough to be invited to see the crypt. Staff and members of the public commented on how polite and engaged the children were throughout.

Back in school, the class fully embraced the Christmas festivities. A real highlight was taking part in the Christmas Markets, where they proudly sold the slime, they had made themselves in class. Their teamwork, enthusiasm, and confidence shone through.

We’re incredibly proud of CL5 for their hard work, positivity, and brilliant attitude this term. What a wonderful way to finish the year.

Inclusive Sports Event

On Monday the students from New Bridge College organised and hosted an Inclusive sports event for several of our pupils at New Bridge Pathways.  A huge thank you to all those involved in the wonderful event.

Lumenus KS4

As part of our school’s festive celebrations, students recently enjoyed a wonderful day combining enterprise, community spirit, and the arts.

Lumenus students held a candy stall at the Christmas Markets. Students helped to prepare, organise, and run the stall, selling a colourful range of confectionery treats to visitors. The stall attracted lot of attention and cheer, giving students the valuable opportunity to develop confidence, teamwork, and communications skills.

Lumenus students also had the pleasure of attending a live performance of Hansel and Gretal at the Oldham Library as audience members. The production brought the classic fairy tale to life with engaging performances, creative staging, and imaginative storytelling.

Watching the performance supported students Arts Awards journey by allowing them to experience live theatre, reflect on artistic choices, and gain inspiration for their own creative work. Students will use this experience to complete a module commenting on the use of costumes, music and set design, which helped deepen their understanding of the performing arts.

Well done to all the students involved for their enthusiasm and excellent behaviour.
