Mrs T's Blog (6.6.25)

Welcome back everyone to Summer 2.

Although I must say – the weather over half term definitely did not have a summer feel.

It was brilliant to see the holiday club students enjoying their time in the break. It was so lovely to see all the fun activities and events.

This term is quite a long term for us – 7 weeks in length.

It’s also a busy, but uncertain time as we get ready to move on.

On Wednesday, Miss Cotton and the pastoral team welcomed our new year 6- 7 cohort of children into the building.

I spoke to some parents – who talked to me about their feelings of moving from primary to secondary. Whilst it’s a very different time, it’s also a very exciting time and we understand everyone’s feelings of nerves and not knowing what’s coming.

One of the things I did mention is that our social media is the BEST way of seeing what goes on inside of New Bridge and it is. I've had a sneaky look today and seen our AB children working well in AB7 and AB3. And at the end of this blog, I’m sharing a brilliant clip, courtesy of Mr Thompson and Year 9...

In this term, we will also be ‘waving ‘farewell to year 9 and year 11. Although year 9 tell me (daily) they are ready to go, I am sure as the time comes, there will definitely be some nerves (and tears).

But we will work this through together...

This afternoon, I went to watch the ‘Set for Success ‘festival, organised by our Sports Council and Miss Wilson. It was amazing to see our year 9’s coach and support our year 7 students. These students will go on to further success in Activate – am sure that Pathways will build on the amazing work that’s been done here at Roman Road. Well done.

That’s it from me. Next week we are off to Euro Disney. I'm sure it’s going to be a fun packed week for everyone. Let’s hope the sun shines.

I’m finishing this blog with a clip taken from a year 9 music lesson. I'm sure you will agree we have some talented musicians in the making.

Have a fab week

Stay safe
