Mrs T's Blog (19.12.25)
And just like that we are entering into to the Christmas break. This term is incredibly long and with it comes lots of challenges. Students need to settle down into routine, we meet new staff and we all adjust to working in a very very busy school.
This week has been no exception and there’s been so much happening – culminating in Friday when we had our Christmas parties, Stars in Your Eyes and lots of fun and laughter.
The staff have been amazing over this past term and work so hard to make sure the students are at the forefront of everything we do. This is no mean feat and requires dedication, passion and resilience – every minute of every day. My ‘shout out’ in this blog goes to my staff team at both the Roman Road and the Pathways site. They are simply amazing.
On the subject of amazing – this blog is dedicated to a member of my staff team who joined us, many years ago.
In fact, that long ago he was a student.
Michael tells me he was the second cohort that came through the doors of the Roman Road site – so if my maths are correct, this was 21 years ago.
The Mike we know and love today is a different character to the one we met all that time ago. He’s grown (not just in height) but in personality, in his character and has become an alumni ambassador.
His journey has been incredible and a credit to his grit and determination to reach his destination, in the world of work.
Unfortunately for us, Mike has decided to move on to the Royal Oldham Hospital – to a new challenge.
Big Mike, Mr Mike, Mr C... a man by many names and many talents (including the history of Oldham) – we will miss you.
Good luck, best wishes and don’t be a stranger. You are a true testament to the power of never giving up on your hopes and dreams.
2025 has been a tremendous year and I really do feel 2026 will be as exciting.
Please take a look at our newsletter which is a celebration of the Autumn term.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our amazing students – for the magic they bring, to our families and carers for your support and care. To our governing body – a massive thank you. My Senior Team – time to rest now folks. And to Clare our CEO for enabling us to do what we d
That’s it for me. I’m clocking off now for 2025 and it's time for me to click into my other jobs of wife, mum and dog walker.
On behalf of myself and the New Bridge family, we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Stay safe
