Learning Centre Blog (20.6.25)

This week during Outdoor Education there was plenty of excitement as the group spotted a turtle in the pond at Daisy Nook. Aiden was saying he had seen it both in the water and out of the water, but the rest kept insisting it was in the water. It turned out that Aiden had gone on Work Experience with another group later on and he had spotted the turtle bathing on the bank.

In addition to the turtle, the group were also thrilled to see a heron standing in the water. Thanks to Mr Fennelly’s photographing capabilities he captured a wonderful snap of the heron which included a reflection of it in the water.

Natalia thought the turtle was cute because of its little head peeping out of the water.

Jamie thought the heron looked beautiful and she preferred it to the turtle.

Laraiba missed the turtle because she carried on walking. She saw the heron and thought it looked beautiful. She liked how it was reflecting in the water to make it look like two of them.

Delfim thought the heron looked scary because it was looking at us with a sad eye.

Aiden thought the turtle must have been able to swim because it was in the water the first time he saw it, but on the bank the second time he saw it.

Laraiba, Jamie, Delfim and Zara all did a dance to ‘I’m better when I’m dancing’ by Meghan Trainor, to celebrate their time at the Learning Centre.

I’m certainly going to miss my Year 14s when they go.
