A Day to Remember: Celebrating Success, Friendship and New Beginnings  

As we gathered to mark the end of another academic year, our annual Leaving Ceremony at Billingtons provided a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate. It is one of the most special occasions in the College calendar as we use the moment as a chance to recognise the achievements, growth and resilience of our wonderful students as they take their next steps in life. 

Firstly, sincere thanks and appreciation to our outstanding Performing Arts students and the College Band for opening the ceremony. Their talent and creativity helped create an atmosphere that was both celebratory and reflective, perfectly capturing the significance of the occasion and providing a memorable soundtrack to a very special day. 

A special and heartfelt thank you must go to our Student Council President, Ben, for delivering such a thoughtful, inspiring and memorable address. His words perfectly captured the significance of the occasion and celebrated the wonderful work carried out by our Student Council throughout the year. 

This year’s ceremony was filled with pride, gratitude and no small amount of emotion. Watching our students walk across the red carpet, receiving their achievement folders and sharing with us their fondest College memories of their time with us was a powerful reminder of why New Bridge College is such a special place. Every student who leaves our College does so with their own unique story... a journey marked by friendships formed, challenges overcome, talents discovered and successes achieved.

For College staff, it is particularly rewarding to see how far our young people have come. Many arrived with uncertainty and nerves and they now leave us with confidence, ambition and a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them. Their achievements are not measured solely in examination results, although we are incredibly proud of their academic accomplishments. Equally important are the kindness they have shown, the leadership they have demonstrated and the contribution they have made to our College community.

The Leaving Ceremony also offered an opportunity to thank those who have supported our students along the way. Parents, carers and families play an invaluable role. Their encouragement, patience and partnership with the College have helped our students thrive. We are deeply grateful for the trust they place in us and for the many ways they contribute to College life. 

As our leavers embark on the next stage of their education and personal journey, we encourage them to embrace new opportunities with enthusiasm and determination. There will undoubtedly be challenges ahead, but there will also be exciting possibilities. The qualities they have developed during their time with us (resilience, respect, curiosity and kindness) will serve them well in whatever path they choose.

While we say goodbye to one chapter, we also celebrate the beginning of another. New Bridge College’s doors will always remain open to our former students and we look forward to hearing about their future successes. They will always be a valued part of our College community. 

To all of our leavers, congratulations. We are proud of everything you have achieved and excited for everything that lies ahead. Thank you for the memories, the laughter and the contributions you have made to our College. We wish you every success and happiness in the years to come. Enjoy the summer, and remember, once part of our College family, always part of our College family!
