World Book Day at
New Bridge Pathways

It was great to see everyone getting into the spirit of the World Book Day "comfy and read" theme!

While some students shared their favourite stories and recommendations, others created new stories under the topic 'Mission Catastrophe', which will be entered into the Young Writers mini saga competition.

It was great to see that the day wasn't just about reading; it was about sharing the love of stories. Well done, from Mrs Taylor

MFY

On World book day in MFY class we read the story of class three all at sea, but we re named it Class CL1PP at sea for World Book Day.

We all sat round on bean bags or on cushions and listened to our story, we even used some props to engage with our story and enjoyed making choices to which character we would like to be .

It was a lovely story and all our pupils engaged , listened to it and seemed to really enjoy it.

Community Living

Community Living PPP celebrated World Book Day by focusing activities on the story Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. We started the day by familiarising ourselves with the theme and characters by listening to the story on the whiteboard. We then went outside and collected some sticks to create our very own stick people.

This activity was linked in with our numeracy targets of identifying long and short. The day was finished with the class listening to Miss Patchett reading the books that some of the students had brought into school.

A lovely day was had by all.

ICT

In ICT this week we created our own book covers using a range of software. Students were able to design either a sequel to a book they loved or a new book that they would enjoy reading.
