Week 3 Blog

Week 3 already.  We are halfway through Spring 1 and beginning to think about what’s yet to come. It’s been a really good start to 2024 and the children have settled well in to teaching and learning and routine. It is wonderful to see our children – in uniform and PE kit and most importantly happy.

This week the School Council contacted me about the need for a bench for the back playground area. We have been fortunate to have some funds through various activities this year – to be able to purchase a bench. We've contacted our friends at Costco and next week our bench will arrive. The School Council inform me, it’s a place where they want to talk and have some nice social time with their friends. I’ll be posting a picture next week.

We are really working hard (behind the scenes) to ensure we have the best outdoor areas for our young people and this week Mrs Coleman-Celis and Mr Jenkins started work on our Bike Ability Scheme. We were able to access the scheme through Greater Manchester ‘Get Moving‘ program. And over the up and coming weeks , that’s exactly what we will be doing – getting everyone moving and mobile.

AB4

"A small group of students from AB4 have been able to visit Manchester City Sensory room, which was amazing!

The students loved meeting Paul and accessing all the sensory equipment, especially the interactive floor."

"AB4 have also been on our accessible bikes, the group have really enjoyed the freedom of cycling using our trikes. They worked on safety, wearing their helmets and worked on stopping and starting and steering the bikes."

Year 9 has also been busy this week .

"Arvind, Noah, Jayden learning about Picasso in art lessons and doodling using the interactive whiteboard.

Well done to all involved."

That’s all for me this week. Lets hope the wind calms down and everyone has a lovely weekend.

Stay safe
