New Bridge Learning Centre Blog - 28.3.24

For this week's blog I’d like to share my newsletter message for this term...

As we move into the spring season at New Bridge Learning Centre, I am delighted to highlight the work of our Sign-a-long advocates. Their dedication to promoting communication and accessibility for all is truly inspiring.

Looking ahead, we are focused on paving the way and preparing for our students for their next steps beyond the Learning Centre. Our collective efforts aim to ensure that each student has access to the best provision, both during their time here and in their future endeavours.

I am grateful for the participation of our parents group. Your presence and engagement make a significant difference in our community, and I appreciate your ongoing support. A special note of appreciation goes out to all parents and staff for your commitment and dedication to our students’ growth and development.

The Student Council continues to play a vital role in our community. Your voices are invaluable in shaping our learning environment. This week Mr Barker, Cathy our Governor and I had the pleasure of meeting with Sehrib, Amy, Millie, Shannon, Imogen, Josh. I look forward to sharing their thoughts & developments for the Learning Centre.

Excitement is building for the upcoming Calvert residential, and our staff teams are already hard at work preparing for the future, including the upcoming September term, which may seem far off but requires plenty of planning.

As we head into the Easter break, I want to send my best wishes to everyone and wish families a very happy Easter, and Eid Mubarak as both celebrations both fall within our Easter break.

May this time be restful and rejuvenating for all of us, preparing us for the opportunities that lie ahead.

We also have an update from Mrs Keane...

On Thursday morning, Zara invited Mrs Keane into the nursery to judge the Easter bonnet competition.

It was a really tough decision, helped by Zara modelling the hats which had been made by the nursery children.

The two winners are shown in the last photo being modelled by Zara and nursery manager, Tracey.

And a note on attendance...

A huge well done to the following students who have achieved 100% attendance this term.

Zara A, Aanas C, Rachael C, Sean C, James DK, Jayden D, Lukas G, Saif M, Mohammed S, Hamzah T.

These students have attended every single day, no matter the weather conditions and have all been awarded a certificate for their outstanding efforts. Well done to each and every one of them.

Take care
