"It's all about the girls"

On Friday we celebrated International Women’s Day and this weekend we appreciate the mothers in the world. Whether they are with us or not. I think it’s easy to say – that everyone has a hero that is a female – whether that’s a mother, sister, daughter, friend, teacher or teaching assistant. I have several. My mum, my nan, my sisters and my daughters. My friends. My mentor Mrs Thompson, my amazing amazing colleagues who everyday support and nurture our wonderful children. Our funny fabulous girls here at New Bridge. Thank you.

This week has been incredibly busy. On Wednesday myself, Mrs Birch Hall, New Bridge Heads and governors watched the Celebration of Learning for our schools.

Mr Jenkins our PE lead for New Bridge presented the journey of Physical Education for the Roman Road site. It was wonderful to see the teaching and learning for all our children and how the team have built an inclusive teaching and learning and extra-curricular program around our students and their needs. Fabulous.

On Thursday it was World Book Day. Thanks to Mrs Robinson for providing us with a day based around the love of books and reading and a fabulous balloon arch which featured on most of our photographs for the day- which were amazing.

On Friday the ladies got their boots on and we hosted a girls football event. I'm sure New Bridge has lots of budding Mary Earps and Jill Scotts .Can’t wait to see the pictures and write up of the day .

Next week we also have another event – Red Nose Day.

We will be sending out information via the usual channels.
